Volcanic highlands, cinnamon’s ancestral home.
From the mist-belt above 800m on Mount Kerinci, Sumatran cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmannii) grows for ten to fifteen years before the inner bark is hand-stripped, sun-cured, and rolled into the warm, oil-rich quills the world knows as Korintje. Down the spine of the island, Lampung delivers ASTA-grade black pepper, and Aceh’s smallholder plots produce a deeply pungent red ginger.
